BABES N BEARDS

Posted on

Hello all
I hope you all had a lovely week. It has been a scorcher here in Toronto! Speaking of Toronto. If you are in Toronto this weekend there is a great little event happening that some of you may enjoy. Its the Babes N Beards Backlot Bonanza! The event is being hosted by our lovely neighborhood Doll Factory by Damzels. Not only do these ladies have the best little shop in the city (in my opinion) they also host the best events! If you like the six B’s of summer  (Beards, Bands, Babes, Booze, Burlesque, Beer) then this is the party to go to!!!!

The event is happening Saturday June 23 from 2-6 at 1122 Queen St. East (backyard)

Hope to see you there

Denim & Plaid

Posted on

Hello all
Today its a hot, humid, sticky day. I wanted to be as light as possible. So I decided to wear my new pleated plaid maxi skirt that I bought at the Gadabout vintage sale on the weekend. I paired it with a G-Star denim vest top. The top was a little heavy but I love the way the skirt flows when I walk. Not to mention I bought the skirt for $10 at the storage sale: D

Does anyone have something in their closet that the love but when they see it on they hate it?
That’s how I feel about this denim top. I love it until I see it on. Ah well I still love my skirt.

I wore my hair today with a victory roll bangs and a side bow that I bought from Damzels.

I hope you had a wonderful day!

Hello all,

As most of you know I occasionally work at a lovely little store in Lesliville Toronto called Ethel. If you have been in the Lesliville area recently you may have noticed that the large and colorful Ethel sign is gone and the doors are closed. If you didn’t know this and were worried that Ethel is gone for good think again!!!! Ethel is alive and well and has a new lovely and colorful home at 327 Queen st East and is currently neighbors with the famous Marty Millionaire!

If you haven’t been the new store location I definitely think you should stop by. Not only does Ethel have a new home but she has a new look and some new coats of paint to brighten up your day. The store has maintained its bright and colorful look but has a great new space with a lot of great new merchandise :D. I picked up a great tiki mug there yesterday and I LOVE IT!!!! And a great thing is there is a tonne of great goodies left for the rest of you 😀

Betsy Johnson Anyone?

Hey all,

Today I am doing a little clothing post that may excite some of you! I was recently cleaning my closet and I came across this lovely dress. I was originally keeping it for myself and it has been in my closet for about 2 years, and I felt like it was time to give allow someone else to enjoy it.

Im not sure if you all know this but Betsy Johnson has recently filed for bankruptcy protection on April 26th. So that means that her boutiques will be closing and only a few department stores will continue to carry Betsy Johnson 😦

So here it is!!! A chance to own your very own vintage Betsy Johnson Dress!!! I found this lovely gem a couple years ago in my travels through the states. I instantly fell in love with it and was more excited that the dress had in fact never been worn!!!! A BRAND NEW VINTAGE DESIGNER DRESS!!! How lucky Right? Well with all that excitement I brought it home and put it in my closet and that is were it has stayed for 2 years. So now its time to give this lovely dress a new home where it will get worn and enjoyed!

 ENJOY!

Hey all
Today I am going to do a short and sweet little post of my main squeeze. I took these photos yesterday in the backyard and the sun shined into every photo somehow. Anyway I hope you enjoy I them.

Bus Terminal Diner

Hey all
Today I finally got to go to a cute little breakfast diner that I have been itching to go to. Its called the Bus Terminal Diner. This great little place has been open since 1948 and remains to be a Toronto landmark.

This is the retro front entrance.

Still has the original food menu above the bar.

The specials.

My delicious meal. All of this $5.95!!! And the potatoes were to die for (note the yolk did not come broken, I got excited and took a bite before the pic: S)

Cute little shrines along the walls of old celebrities.

Overall we loved the place. The food was great, service was greater and the original retro decor was awesome. We will definitely be returning: D

Bus Terminal Diner is located on the NE corner of Danforth and Coxwell.
