Hello all,

Sorry about all the mirror shots lately. I’m currently in search for a new camera and until I find one my camera phone is my camera so please bare with me ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyways…So over the past few months and a growing belly I have on the search for something to wear that doesnt make me look like a balloon and marshmallow. As funny as it sounds it is actually quite the feat to find fashionable and affordable maternity wear. So with that being said I have decided to make some of my own clothing. Which is what I did on Saturday night ๐Ÿ™‚

On Saturday I was quite frustrated with my closet so I decided to whip something up on my own. I chose to make a maxi dress with some fabric I purchased a while back. I picked out one of my favorite maxi dresses and I also chose a top that I liked. I combined the styles and came up with my own maxi dress. I am actually pretty happy with the final result.

Baby bump shot! ๐Ÿ™‚

I took the tie detail from the top that I liked and I added a little extra detail by using a contrast color so the tie is more noticeable.

I paired the dress with a vintage cardigan and a vintage tooled leather belt.

I’m quite happy with how the dress turned out. Cant wait to create something else ๐Ÿ™‚

Southern Bell

Posted on

Hello friends,
I have been on a little hiatus for the last few months, but I have news!!! I’m back ๐Ÿ™‚ and I’m not alone…. Ive got a lovely little bump now too.
I must say that over the past few months it has been hard to find clothing that accommodates my new addition, and its even harder to find something affordable, fashionable and practical for someone sporting a baby bump.
With that being said I have been trying to find things in my wardrobe that will do this. So this morning I awoke with an outfit in my head that was all based around a vintage 70’s dress I have stored away in one of my many vintage boxes (I have way too many).ย  So on my search I came across another dress and decided to end my search then and there and just go with it.

Here it is!! This dress is from the 80s. Its nice light and flowey. Not to mention the beautiful lace on the bodice and hem. And one more thing…. ELASTIC WAISTBAND!!!

Here’s a pic of the lace at the back.

I did some quick alterations to the dress by bringing up the waistband and turning the dress into a baby doll style. I then paired it with a great 1970’s vintage tooled leather belt, vintage Roebuck’s denim jacket and vintage cowboy boots.

After all was said and done I felt like a little Southern Bell ๐Ÿ™‚ all that was missing was Texas and some line dancin ๐Ÿ˜‰

Overall Kind Of Day!

This week my Husband surprised me with an awesome pair of overalls he got at his work sample sale. I have been wanting a pair for awhile (Not the 90’s style) but I hadn’t been able to find a pair I really liked. So now that I have them I was very excited to wear them out! Yesterday I played off the poor boy look with a girly touch ๐Ÿ™‚ I actually really liked this look and it was really comfortable.

Me and Miss Zoe!

French Friday!

This week I was perusing through the hair tutorials on YouTube and I came across a cute little tutorial by my favorite tutorial gal TheCherryDollFace. It’s a vintage Marilyn Monroe look. I thought it was cute. So after playing around with it I decided I was going to wear it on Friday. I figured since I was going to wear a French beret I might as well dress the whole part ๐Ÿ˜€ ย I actually felt veryย feminine in this outfit. It set a great mood for a Friday ๐Ÿ™‚

Today I wore a vintage French Beret, Vintage Cardigan, striped top from Zara, Lida Baday skirt and Irregular Choice shoes.

Hair Close up!ย

Try the tutorial! Its super easy and very pretty ๐Ÿ™‚

And to set the mood here’s some Marilyn ๐Ÿ˜€

Hope you had a great weekend!!

Knee High Layering

Recently I feel like ive been in a weather transition slum. Ive been wearing jeans and my favorite vintage boots almost every day. Not that they aren’t lovely but I dont think they have been post worthy. So yesterday I decided to step it up and put a little effort into my outfit.
Yesterday I wore my Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair twist dress, a vintage cardigan, irregular choice shoes, black tights and grey knee high socks. This photo doesnt really do the socks over nylons any justice, but I think it was a cute little outfit and it also kept me warm. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hope you like it! Have a wonderful weekend!

Maxi skirt <3

Hey all
Its has finally stopped raining here in Toronto, so I finally got a chance to wear one of my long skirts. I bought this skirts in the summer at a great little Gadabout clearance sale. The colors are nice and vibrant, the skirt is flowy and was $10. Really Who could pass that up? I also bought a few other skirts that will be showcased soon ๐Ÿ™‚

The other day I was cleaning out my closet, and I came across a lovely top that I completely forgot I had. At one point in time it was actually one of my favorite garments but I guess it got surpassed ๐Ÿ˜ฆย  Now that it has been found it will be worn again ๐Ÿ™‚ I also found a few more great garments I had forgotten about that got lost in my piles and drawers of clothes. Yay for forgotten closet gems ๐Ÿ™‚

Queen Street Shopper

I’ve finally come to terms with the fact that fall is here and it is officially time to get some new tops :D. So with that being said, earlier this week on my morning commute to work I noticed a great little top in a window on Queen Street West. Normally I find it very hard to find tops I like, so I had to find this top. I ended up finding the top at this great little shop called TSOQ (The Store On Queen). ย Its a rocking little shop located at 719 Queen St West. This store is great! It has rockin clothing,ย jewelry, ย shoes and trinkets. If you like bad ass clothing then this is the place to shop. Not to mention the prices are to die for!

New Top!! So In Love!

Today I wore my hair up in Victory rolls and I tried to do a little swoop with my bangs.

Hope you had a nice weekend!
