Breaking The Rules!

Posted on

As some of you followers know I was told at work that I am no longer allowed to wear heels. I’m not sure how stern my warning was but I haven’t worn heels since. This is actually a problem for me as my heel collection well exceeds my flats collection. So on Friday I decided to test the waters a little and I wore a pair of vintage clogs…….clogs aren’t heels so I thought I would be safe, and no one said anything so I’m going to assume I’m in the clear for clogs πŸ˜‰
I paired them with a cute little skull dress that my sister got me for my birthday (its from H&M) and I wore a pair of denim cutoffs that I turned into maternity shorts:). The reason I wear the shorts is because I personally find that H&M dresses are quite short and when you add a baby bump into the mix its even shorter. So to save people from seeing my rump all day I played it safe with shorts πŸ™‚

French Friday!

This week I was perusing through the hair tutorials on YouTube and I came across a cute little tutorial by my favorite tutorial gal TheCherryDollFace. It’s a vintage Marilyn Monroe look. I thought it was cute. So after playing around with it I decided I was going to wear it on Friday. I figured since I was going to wear a French beret I might as well dress the whole part πŸ˜€ Β I actually felt veryΒ feminine in this outfit. It set a great mood for a Friday πŸ™‚

Today I wore a vintage French Beret, Vintage Cardigan, striped top from Zara, Lida Baday skirt and Irregular Choice shoes.

Hair Close up!Β

Try the tutorial! Its super easy and very pretty πŸ™‚

And to set the mood here’s some Marilyn πŸ˜€

Hope you had a great weekend!!

Forgotten Gems

The other day I was cleaning out my closet, and I came across a lovely top that I completely forgot I had. At one point in time it was actually one of my favorite garments but I guess it got surpassed 😦  Now that it has been found it will be worn again πŸ™‚ I also found a few more great garments I had forgotten about that got lost in my piles and drawers of clothes. Yay for forgotten closet gems πŸ™‚

Dungaree Love!

So I fiiiiiinnnnalllllyyyyyy received my birthday present the other day :). After a month of anticipation and $60.25 in UPS surcharges I got them.
My husband ordered them for me after we finished watching a great 1950’s series called The Furies. I loved it! I guess he was listening when I kept talking about Vance Jeffords (Barbara Stanwyck) dungarees. I love her western cowgirl look πŸ™‚ not to mention her bad ass attitude in the show.

Cotton candy!

Hello all
For the last year I have been growing out my hair for my wedding. So now that my wedding is over I can finally do something a little different.
The other day I went to visit my lovely hairdresser Melissa. At this appointment she introduced me to “color toner”. Over the last year I have been dabbling in pink. So that was an obvious choice. Its nice and subtle, yet still different.Β  I love it!

This is one of my favorite vintage dresses. It is soooo cute

Here is the views of my hair. (Its finally long enough to do properly) YAY!
