Summer in March

Posted on

This week has been great! The weather is beautiful, flowers are blooming, sun is shining, wedding invitations arrived and life is good. Out of all these exciting things I must say I am most excited to bring out my summer dresses.
Today in Toronto it was a whopping 30 degrees with the humidex and its only the second day of spring. Today I was excited to wear one of my vintage dresses that I rediscovered last week. I actually had plans to make it into a skirt because the front had a horrific stain. I washed it numerous times and tried different stain removers and nothing. But last week one of my co-workers brought in some great stain remover and I decided to give this stain one last try. ALAS!!!!! The stain came out! I was so excited I could not wait to wear it. So today was the perfect day to show it off.

Take a moment to admire the cute print. This is why I tried to save it so many times.

I hope you all had a wonderful day! Happy hump day!

Hint of Spring

Hey all,
Today I awoke to a beautiful sunrise and a hint of green on my front lawn. Could it be true….Spring is here? Todays weather forecast is a lovely 6 degrees (warm for a Canadian February)  and I plan on taking full advantage of it. Today I dressed slightly springy as I hope this weather is here to stay.

Trouser Time

Sorry for the lack of posts recently, I’ve been doing alot of cleaning at work so my outfits havent really been that interesting.  I thought I would share my outfit today.

Today I wore high waisted pleated trousers by Lida Baday, chocolate heels, a forever 21 body suit, a sparrow necklace, and a vintage cardigan.

I also pulled my hair back into a victory roll and paired it with a nice black flower.

Happy Friday!

Flirty Friday!

Hey all
Ive been a little lacking in posts this week due to the fact that I have been working with dirty old samples, and did not want to ruin or dirty any of my nice clothes.  But this morning I was inspired to wear something a little fun. I found a picture on my friends facebook page and decided to play off of that look. She called it “country meets glamour.”

Cropped and Cozy

Hey all,
So its officially winter here in Toronto 😦 and it was quite chilly today. All I wanted to do was stay in bed curled up under the warm covers. So on days like today I chose my comfy dress.  I have posted it before but today I paired it with a 1950’s cropped sweater. This dress is perfect for days like today.

Fishnets & Bowties

Hey all,
Today I decided to break out a pair of fishnet nylons that have been hiding in the bottom of my drawer for over a year.  I decided to pair it with a high waisted skirt that I havent worn in a couple years. I was reminded shortly after I left the house why I havent worn it.
I was also reminded that its apparently winter outside and its time to start dressing for the weather 😦

New Monday’s

Happy Monday all,
Today I was not feeling Monday at all, but I figured I would try my best to start out the work week on a fresh and clean note. I decided to wear one of my new dresses that I got on Friday. I must say it definitely brought up my mood. Nothing beats the feeling of a brand spanking new dress (or new anything) There is something about a new article of clothing that gives you a feeling of confidence, sexyness, and your desire to strut ;).

Today I was excited to wear my new top I got from my hubby. He got it at this lovely little shop in Calgary called Blame Betty. Its awesome!  Im not just talking about my top. The store is great. They have a great assortment of ladies Rockabilly clothing as well as a great new addition upstairs for menswear.  My hubby got an awesome Lucky 13 jacket. (I will post photos this week)
I paired my top with a new grey cardigan I got from my mom for Xmas as well as a cute skirt I got in Texas a few years ago.

Happy Thursday!

Electric Blue!

Hey All,

So todays work day is over and Christmas is right around the corner! I woke up this morning feeling pretty blue for some reason so I decided to throw a little color into my day (Fighting the weekday blues with Blue :D). I had been meaning to wear these nylons sooner but was slightly turned off when I went to put them on last week and there was already a snag (not done by me 😦 ) So instead of taking them back I had to give them the clear nail polish treatment. So alas! Today was the day.

Today I wore one of my favorite dresses by Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair, Forever 21 Nylons & Shoes, Michael Kors watch and my bow tie necklace.Electric Blue

Blue ShoeI love these shoes! I wear them quite often and they are surprisingly very comfortable!

One more day until the weekend!!!!!!

A Good Day For Chanel!

So today I woke up thinking it was Thursday and the weekend was within reach. I realized that I was mistaken as I was getting ready for work :(. Normally this would not bother me but today it kind of bummed me out. So on days like today I had to bring out my “HAPPY PANTS”. I know every woman has a pair and for me they are my Vintage Chanel nautical style pants. I absolutely love these pants. I found them this spring at the Maple Cottage Vintage sale. It was amazing. I noticed them as they were being returned after an unsuccessful fitting in the change room. I quickly asked if I could try them on and BAM!!!! Fit like a glove! And…..they were a very good price. I could not resist and now they are alllllll mine! These pants are also special because they were a collection for a store called CREEDS.

Creeds was the finest women’s specialty store in Canada specializing in furs, designer fashions and accessories, jewellery (Beni Sung), cosmetics (Borghese, Chanel, Clarins, Clinique, Estée Lauder, Lancôme), fragrances, and gifts (including fine chocolate, men’s ties, and Sable & Rosenfeld gourmet foods). The 38,000-square-foot (3,500 m2) store spanned two floors and featured boutiques for Yves Saint LaurentChanelChristian DiorEmanuel Ungaro, and Sonia Rykiel. The original location opened in 1916; the Manulife Centre location closed with the firm’s bankruptcy in 1990.  (source http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manulife_Centre)
