Its a “Lucy” Kind of Day!

Posted on

Hey all,
Today I woke up wanting to do something a little different with my hair. The idea quickly popped into my head that I would try the “I Love Lucy” hairstyle, as that is what most people call me at work 🙂

My first attempt for this hairstyle. It turned out quite nice. Funny thing is no one called me “Lucy” today.

Today I wore a vintage dress, vintage tooled leather belt, vintage cardigan, vintage necklace and coach shoes. I think dress really complimented the hairstyle 🙂

Here is a little tutorial for this hairstyle if anyone is interested in trying it.

Hair day

So last week I got a call from my sister saying she didnt really like the hairstyle I picked for her to wear in my wedding.  (Yes I picked my bridesmaids hairstyles) I was obviously slightly insulted as I personally loved the hairstyle, so today I decided to try it out to prove a point that I think its nice.
I must say I had a hard time doing it as I am currently growing out my bangs, and also I only had a limited time to style it as I had to be at work.

The inspiration.

So I think it turned out ok. Im sure it could have been perfected with more time. But hopefully she will change her feeling towards the hair.

Summer in March

Posted on

This week has been great! The weather is beautiful, flowers are blooming, sun is shining, wedding invitations arrived and life is good. Out of all these exciting things I must say I am most excited to bring out my summer dresses.
Today in Toronto it was a whopping 30 degrees with the humidex and its only the second day of spring. Today I was excited to wear one of my vintage dresses that I rediscovered last week. I actually had plans to make it into a skirt because the front had a horrific stain. I washed it numerous times and tried different stain removers and nothing. But last week one of my co-workers brought in some great stain remover and I decided to give this stain one last try. ALAS!!!!! The stain came out! I was so excited I could not wait to wear it. So today was the perfect day to show it off.

Take a moment to admire the cute print. This is why I tried to save it so many times.

I hope you all had a wonderful day! Happy hump day!

Roses Are Red

Today I decided to bring out one of my vintage dresses that I’ve had mixed feelings about. I found this dress a few years ago and fell in love with the print. At first I was going to alter it and take the bodice off and just wear it as a skirt. Then I thought about altering the neckline.  But on Halloween I decided to actually wear it as it is (I also was wearing day of the dead face paint)
It was that day that I decided to leave it as it is. 😀

Beautiful full skirt with………….POCKETS!!!! This dress has it all. Pockets, rose prints, circle skirt and beauty.

A little twirl. I love how the skirt flows.

Just to wanted to show you how wide the skirt is, and get this……….its all one piece! More fabric for a lovely twirl.

Happy Wednesday!

Fuschia Friday’s

I dont know about most people but for me I like to dress up on Fridays for two reasons. 1) I like to end the week with a bang and 2) you never know what might come up at then end of your work day.
So this morning I came along a slight problem when I realized all the nylons I own either have snags or holes :(……….well not all I guess. After going through my nylon drawer and rejecting every pair of nylons I had I noticed a small package at the bottom of my drawer. FUSCHIA NYLONS. I have been ignoring these lovely gems for close to 2 years mainly because I was afraid of the color but as of today I finally set them free. I can honestly say I think they are my new favorite things.
Moral of the story dont be afraid of color.
HAVE A COLORFUL FRIDAY EVERYONE!
