Crochet cuteness!

Posted on

I’ve recently been looking through my vintage stash in preparation for my up coming Pop Up Shop, and I have been having a slight problem. I seem to be finding a lot of things I want to keep for myself lol. So while I was searching through my goodies I found this great little crochet cardi. I love it! And I think at one point I actually had gotten it for myself and never worn it so it got transferred to my storage. Well now it has been reintroduced to the world and is ready for the summer heat 🙂 hopefully!

Wearing a vintage crochet cardigan, vintage tooled leather belt, vintage leather flats and a great maxi dress that I found at winners for $20. Unfortunately I don’t think its going to fit for very much longer 😦

Its a “Lucy” Kind of Day!

Hey all,
Today I woke up wanting to do something a little different with my hair. The idea quickly popped into my head that I would try the “I Love Lucy” hairstyle, as that is what most people call me at work 🙂

My first attempt for this hairstyle. It turned out quite nice. Funny thing is no one called me “Lucy” today.

Today I wore a vintage dress, vintage tooled leather belt, vintage cardigan, vintage necklace and coach shoes. I think dress really complimented the hairstyle 🙂

Here is a little tutorial for this hairstyle if anyone is interested in trying it.

Hello all,

Sorry about all the mirror shots lately. I’m currently in search for a new camera and until I find one my camera phone is my camera so please bare with me 🙂

Anyways…So over the past few months and a growing belly I have on the search for something to wear that doesnt make me look like a balloon and marshmallow. As funny as it sounds it is actually quite the feat to find fashionable and affordable maternity wear. So with that being said I have decided to make some of my own clothing. Which is what I did on Saturday night 🙂

On Saturday I was quite frustrated with my closet so I decided to whip something up on my own. I chose to make a maxi dress with some fabric I purchased a while back. I picked out one of my favorite maxi dresses and I also chose a top that I liked. I combined the styles and came up with my own maxi dress. I am actually pretty happy with the final result.

Baby bump shot! 🙂

I took the tie detail from the top that I liked and I added a little extra detail by using a contrast color so the tie is more noticeable.

I paired the dress with a vintage cardigan and a vintage tooled leather belt.

I’m quite happy with how the dress turned out. Cant wait to create something else 🙂

Southern Bell

Hello friends,
I have been on a little hiatus for the last few months, but I have news!!! I’m back 🙂 and I’m not alone…. Ive got a lovely little bump now too.
I must say that over the past few months it has been hard to find clothing that accommodates my new addition, and its even harder to find something affordable, fashionable and practical for someone sporting a baby bump.
With that being said I have been trying to find things in my wardrobe that will do this. So this morning I awoke with an outfit in my head that was all based around a vintage 70’s dress I have stored away in one of my many vintage boxes (I have way too many).  So on my search I came across another dress and decided to end my search then and there and just go with it.

Here it is!! This dress is from the 80s. Its nice light and flowey. Not to mention the beautiful lace on the bodice and hem. And one more thing…. ELASTIC WAISTBAND!!!

Here’s a pic of the lace at the back.

I did some quick alterations to the dress by bringing up the waistband and turning the dress into a baby doll style. I then paired it with a great 1970’s vintage tooled leather belt, vintage Roebuck’s denim jacket and vintage cowboy boots.

After all was said and done I felt like a little Southern Bell 🙂 all that was missing was Texas and some line dancin 😉
